i am currently thoroughly enjoying this tune by The Head and The Heart, Lost in My Mind.

i am a very sophisticated and classy individual. this is underscored by my highbrow choice in comedic cinema, such as the 1996 hit Happy Gilmore. in one scene, Happy calls after his lover via the apartment intercom, serenading her to return.
since i lived in a pop-cultural black hole until 1993, i was not familiar with the song Happy sang. but i certainly have sung it again and again in jest, referencing the scene. since i had no idea how the song was initially performed, i always envisioned it as a hard rock song, along the lines of Kiss. well leave it to a moment of procrastination to discover otherwise:


i'm not sure why i'm surprised that there are these disco undertone, it was '78.
AND i'm fairly sure that frontman Jimmy Stockley and I have shared a hair stylist. at least i was being ironic.

oh koreatown. thank you for bringing me Paris Baguette. what an odd combo of french-style pastries filled with asian flavors. the X-shaped pastry on the left [not my photo, thanks google] is filled with green bean paste. i agree that sounds like it could be no good and horrible, but i assure you it's quite the opposite.

another reason to love Paris Baguette is that all their employees wear berets and stripes [again, thank you google image search for the photographic proof]. the francophile that i am adores this.
